Will Moore – Director
Will has worked as a sustainability advisor for a wide range of media organisations, event promoters, international music artists and production companies. In addition to advising clients on reducing their environmental impact, Will has also worked extensively to raise awareness on climate change throughout the music, media and film industries.
In 1999 Will left an accomplished record label career to become a consultant, advising on talent led campaigns and events, for a number of environmental, cause-related and non-governmental organisations. These have included: MTV Switch, Julie's Bicycle, Live Earth, Global Action Plan, Stop Climate Chaos/iCount, 21st Century Leaders, Whateverittakes, Wedgecard and Burma Campaign UK.
Through SustainableTouring Will now works as a sustainability consultant to artist managers, event promoters, venues and production companies on UK, European and international concert tours and TV events, heading a team of specialist music and media industry sustainability consultants. Recent events include: Jack Johnson UK Tour ’08, Crowded House UK & European Tours, KT Tunstall UK & European tours, MTV European Music Awards 2007/8, Brit Awards 2008, Download Festival '08, Wireless Festival '08, Hyde Park Calling '08.
Will is also a Director of SustainableProduction and MooreSustainable.
Dr Emma Harvey – Director
Emma has a first class degree and Ph.D in psychology. She has many years experience of managing large scale, complex projects with top international teams. Much of her work has been focused on behaviour change for organizations and individuals – the last few years in designing and implementing pragmatic, sustainable business practices. Recent projects include acting as UK Greening Manager for the Live Earth concert at Wembley Stadium. Other clients include The Climate Group (a leading, climate change NGO), Virgin Atlantic, Enterprise Inns and Divine Chocolate (a leading Fairtrade brand).
Malcolm Carruthers – Senior Consultant
Malcolm has worked in the music industry for 20 years, providing experience across manufacturing, production and logistics. He has also led international marketing and promotions teams in the UK and USA. Malcolm holds a B.Eng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and works as a consultant for Julie’s Bicycle, a not-for-profit company formed to create consensus within the music industry on emission reduction targets and low energy use.
Sam Balch – Senior Consultant
Sam brings a clear understanding of the environmental and economic imperatives for action on climate change. Sam is an Associate of Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (AIEMA) and has an MSc in Environment, Science and Society from University College London. He has worked in the environmental sector for a number of years, including in research and development roles, as well as managing UK fundraising for environmental charity - Global Action Plan and WWF-UK. Sam sits on the Community and Education Group for the Energy Savings Trust - a non-profit organisation, funded both by government and the private sector. The Energy Saving Trust was established to cut emissions of carbon dioxide by promoting the sustainable and efficient use of energy.
Andy Stone – Editorial Content and Communications
Andy has worked in the music industry for nearly 20 years as a signed artist, an A&R consultant, a live promoter and a journalist and broadcaster. Having helped to set up the All Tomorrow’s Parties festival in the late 1900s, Andy went on to work extensively for the Mean Fiddler Music Group (now Festival Republic) – the promoters and producers of the Reading and Leeds Festivals, Glastonbury and Latitude. Following a move into the environmental sector, Andy now edits www.icount.org.uk – the website behind the UK’s biggest climate change campaign – while undertaking freelance writing and presenting work for the likes of Dazed & Confused and Rock Sound magazines and BBC 6Music.
Alistair Gates – Technology Consultant
Alistair consults for SustainableTouring and our clients on technology, communication and environmental online marketing. Alistair has planned and built bespoke technology solutions for clients across the globe and is director of the hugely popular niche telecommunications company 2Abroad. In addition to technical matters Alistair brings his business formation and management expertise to SustainableTouring
